        Transport Minister, Honourable Jeff Radebe, unveils the Pretoria to Johannesburg Business Express Train.

Pretoria:

Minister of Transport, Honourable Jeff Radebe, and the CEO of the South African Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC), Mr. Tshepo Lucky Montana, will on Thursday, 8th May 2008, unveil the Tshwane – Johannesburg Business Express train, as part of the passenger rail turn around strategy.

Premium business train will reduce the travel time between the two cities to just under an hour. Destined to relieve peak hour traffic congestion on the N1, and offer relief to cash strapped motorists owing to escalating fuel prices, the new facelift commuter business express train will boast on board staff, free refreshments, complimentary newspapers, high level security and on board workstations. Free secured parking facilities and free bus shuttle services form part of the offering to ensure maximum commuter convenience and comfort.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include the Mayor of Tshwane, Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa, the Gauteng MEC for Public Transport, Roads and Works, Mr. Ignatius Jacobs, Member of the Mayoral Council of the City of Johannesburg, Ms. Rehana Moosajee, Dr. Irvin Khoza, the Chairman of the 2010 LOC, Provincial Transport Members of the Executive Council, and Members of Parliaments Portfolio Committee on Transport.
