New INTERSITE Chief Executive Officer
The
South African Rail Commuter Corporation Limited, is proud
to announce the appointment of Mr Papi Mphahlele, the
new Chief Executive Officer of its wholly owned subsidiary,
INTERSITE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
Mr
Mphahlele joined Intersite on 01 June 2004.
Papi
Mphahlele has almost 20 years of experience in business
and property management. He entered the industry via petrol
filling station development for BP South Africa in 1985.
After gleaning other some marketing experience, he returned
to property at the Dealer Development department of BMW
SA, where he was part of the team that developed Soweto
BMW, the first black owned dealership in South Africa.

On leaving BMW in '89, he stayed with property and
worked for organisations such as Lebowa Development
Corporations (LDC), ESKOM Properties, McDonalds
and Denel Property Group, where he was Managing
Director until joining Intersite.
Papi was also President of SAPOA (South African
Property Owners Association) in 2002/3 and is a
founding Council member of SAFMA (South African
Facilities Management Association).
Papi Mphahlele is excited about his new position
and promises to bring more enthusiasm and vision
to the Intersite executive. "I am attracted
to Intersite by the potential that I perceive for
the Company. I see Intersite as having great potential
for growth in both its existing customer base and
in all the activities of the company. There is also
a great potential for Intersite to acquire new business
in the marketplace including growing into the other
Southern African neighboring States," he said.
When asked what his vision and perceived challenges
were for the next few months, Papi was clear - to
maintain a market focused approach, aimed at raising
Intersite's profile in the marketplace to attract
new clients while going even further to meet the
needs of existing clients and, very importantly,
keeping the socially responsible approach. On the
internal side, he aims to get to know the staff,
management and all stakeholders with whom Intersite
works and to continue a policy of transformation
on all fronts.
