4. What is the difference between a commuter and passenger
rail services?
In South Africa, commuter rail is the metropolitan rail transport
service provided by Metrorail on behalf of SARCC, which transports
urban commuters. Passenger rail is the city to city (long distance)
rail transport services operated by Spoornet's Shosholoza Meyl.
5. When was the last new rail line built?
The last commuter rail line was built in 1984 at Khayelitsha,
in the Western Cape Province.
