MISSION
The SA Rail Commuter is the statutory agent which ensures the provision
of effective and efficient rail commuter services under concessioning
agreements in the best interest of the people of South Africa. We
develop and manage concessioning and other contracts in the field
of rail commuter services and infrastructure. The corporation manages
the optimal utilisation of funds and rail commuter and expansion
of such assets, and ensures the maintenance, renewal, enhancement
and expansion of such assets. The SARCC subscribes to sound business
principles.
VISION
The South African Rail Commuter Corporation, as the recognised
champion of commuter rail concessioning in South Africa, will
be the preferred agent for al transport authorities ensuring the
provision of world class rail commuter services.
Business Objectives
- To design and manage concessioning and other contracts relating
to rail commuter services and infrastructure.
- To be an effective and efficient concessionor by ensuring
the provision of safe, relaible, affordable, clean and punctual
rail commuter services.
- To ensure value for money in the utilisation of the rail commuter
subsidy with a view to decrease the extent thereof.
- To plan, facilitate and ensure optimal rail commuter infrastructure
expansion.
- To ensure optimal utilisation of funds and rail commuter assets.
- To enhance the Corporation's assets by facilitating investment
from external sources.
